Website Orientation Activity

Before diving into the arts, take a few minutes to explore the course website. This short activity will make sure you know how to find everything you need.

🎯 Your Mission

Complete each of the following tasks. There is nothing to submit; this is just to make sure you are comfortable with the site before we begin.

☑️ Checklist

Explore the sidebar. Click on at least three different modules in the sidebar to expand them. Notice how each module contains a list of pages.

Open the lesson sections. Go to the Getting Started page and click the numbered section headings to open and close them. This is how lesson content is organized throughout the course.

Use Previous and Next. Scroll to the bottom of any page and use the navigation buttons to move forward and backward through the course.

Follow the breadcrumbs. Look at the small links at the top of any page (for example, Home › HUMA 1301 › Start Here). Click "HUMA 1301" to jump back to the course landing page.

Try a Gallery. Open the Painting lesson. At the top, click several pictures in the Gallery and read the credit and "What to notice" under each one. (Painting is a preview of Unit 4; you do not need to read the lesson yet.)

Find your instructor. Navigate to the Meet Your Instructor page and read through it.

Check the course overview. Go back to the course landing page and look at all fifteen module cards. Get a sense of the full journey ahead.

Ready? Once you have completed the checklist, you are all set. Head to Unit 1: The Humanities: An Introduction to begin the course!
